No case is the same and we don’t believe in a one size fits all approach when it comes to hiring an Illinois medical malpractice attorney. That said, these tips apply to most cases.

Before you hire a firm, verify that they will be the ones working on your case and not shipping it out to another firm. Believe it or not, some firms do this and while there is nothing wrong with it, you should know who you are working with.
Ask to see a sample of results in previous medical malpractice cases. Especially in large damage cases such as wrongful death, Illinois birth injury lawsuits or other catastrophic claims, you want to verify that the lawyer you hire has a track record of many six and seven figure results.

Verdict Against Midwestern University's Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine

February 25, 2008-- A Chicago jury returned a $ 9.858 million verdict against the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and the doctor running the Fellows Clinic of the college in Downers Grove, Illinois, on behalf of a Rapoport Law Office client who was formerly a medical student at that school.

Now 31 years old, our client was injured on December 8, 2003, at the Fellows Clinic. That day, she presented to the clinic with complaints of mild shoulder and neck pain from studying. An unsupervised medical student manipulated her neck, injuring her long thoracic nerve. As a result of her injury she had two shoulder surgeries, developed a chronic pain syndrome, and had to withdraw from medical school.

In the lawsuit, the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine and the doctor, who ran the Fellows Clinic, denied doing anything wrong, arguing that our client suffers instead from a rare disease. However, a member of the trial team working the case explained, "We thought this defense was total nonsense and the jury agreed with us." Paul Richter, the firms managing partner, who assisted in the trial added, "A Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine witness filed a false affidavit in the case, and an important log record had been altered by someone at the college. The defense attorney argued our client's credibility was suspect, but our firm effectively turned that around on the defense during the final rebuttal argument." It was further noted that, "In the Fellows Clinic on the day our client was hurt, the University failed to have procedures and protocols requiring direct on premises supervision of medical students by a licensed doctor as required by Illinois law. Instead, the medical student was allowed to form his own diagnosis and treatment plan, and then he proceeded to execute it badly, all without supervision."

At 31, our client has accomplished much in her life. She was graduated from Rush University College of Nursing cum laude in 1998 and was inducted into the national nurses' honor society, Sigma Theta Tau. She worked as a registered nurse while completing her prerequisites for medical school and was accepted to the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine where she began medical school in August of 2003. Before she was injured, our client was also a marathon runner, completing four marathons including her favorite, LaSalle Bank's Chicago Marathon, on two occasions.

Are we expecting fans to call for Brady Quinn or Ken Dorsey on the line up for Thursday 28th? With Anderson on recovery, Brady Quinn will line up for the second time this month; that is if he can overcome those slip-ups from the past games.

What do Braylon Edwards and Kellen Wislow have in common with San Diego when they had Philip Rivers and Drew Bees a few years ago? Well, besides competition at quarterback, they have talent. The Chicago Bears on the other hand have put to much faith on starting quarterback Kyle Orton losing 3 consecutive games as well. The question for Thursday 28th is: who wants to wear the big shoes? Maybe Rex Grossman has an answer.

Now, did the Bears do little to renovate and develop their structure this off season? Or did they sacrifice the most important position, the field? Can some fill in for Bernard Berrian (too bad he is gone) or Cedric Benson? Does Matt Forte need competition from Kevin Jones? Questions come and go, but they have made it in the past and if Devin Hester improves and builds up as a wide receiver, field success sounds accurate for this season.

Ok, let's back up for a minute, Rex Grossman is a doubt choice per se, but still optimal; Kyle Orton's contract got an extension... "Hmmm, ok keep going", Moose Muhammad #2 receiver was released and #1 receiver Bernard Berrian is now making extra cash with the Vikings, so all around, can fans make a judge out of this? Devin Hester was a rookie last year, but pretty sure this year he will come around and show marked improvement.

The Bears should be worried about injuries which play a big role last season. Healthy defense means strong and vigorous team, so let's hope the Bears can upturn to the top of the NFC north this year.

All said, both teams' top starters won't see undoubtedly much action on Thursday night, but we are sure to expect some surprises from both sides.

Specialized matinee and educational programs are offered at the Schaumburg location, ideal for student tours. Students become more familiar with the history and names of the knights represented at Medieval Times, as well as Moorish culture. The fun begins as students receive a colored crown corresponding to the knight they will cheer throughout the show. To the delight of most kids, a meal is served "medieval style" - without silverware. As they enjoy the meal, student tours take in all the lance-splintering action and glorious pageantry. Afterward, students can meet with Knights and Royalty for autographs and pictures.
